I think that often we adults view the Sunday that we serve in Children’s Ministry as a Sunday that we “miss out” on the teaching and worship from the “big service”. I have found and I hope that we all find, that the Sunday we worship and learn with the kids is one that is just as enriching as our experience in the “bigger room”.
We are all God’s children, as an adult I can forget the “child” part. Being with the children brings it close to home. As an adult I can complicate things. In with the children, I can dwell in the reality of my own childhood in relation to my Father. He asks that I love Him and others…. trust Him….. obey His voice…… some basics that I can complicate with the fact that I feel somewhat in charge as an adult.
I realize that we, as adults, are giving of our time and energy to the kids when we serve in Children’s Ministry. But I realize more and more fully, we are not missing out on “church”, and our lil’ brothers and sisters have a lot to offer us in our spiritual lives as well.
